I have no tolerance for hateful speech and ideologies.★ I do not permit other artists to tattoo my designs. if you can't currently travel to me for a tattoo, please visit a shop in your town and have one of the lovely artists design you something original! ♥★★★ I am very scent sensitive, please respect this when booking with me and on the day of the appointment. I will very likely get a migraine from perfumes, lotions, soap, common cleaners, candles, etc. with scents. I would much rather smell body odor (you’re gonna sweat anyway!) vs. perfumes when tattooing you, and I don’t want to send anyone home! feel free to check in with me about any scents you regularly use, and avoid wearing any fragrances in the studio during your appointment~

while I love to branch out of my comfort zone, it is important for me to create an illustration both you and I are satisfied with. while I can draw many things, I feel the most connected and confident in organic figures and would like to draw these the most!★ COLORS ★
if I am doing a commission traditionally, I have a limited color palette based on what supplies I have.I prefer to not work in desaturated colors like olive green/burgundy/ochre/browns etc. and don’t have many markers in these categories. I do my best work using the colors I love, so please allow me some creative freedom with coloring/color palettes!

★ GENERAL RULES ★
the artist has full right to refuse service under any circumstance.
if the commission inquiry is deemed by the artist a subject matter or aesthetic that is not one the artist will depict, the inquiry will be denied.
by submitting a commission inquiry form, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms of service provided in the tos.
you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to my services, which may be posted and modified from time to time. all guidelines or rules are hereby incorporated into the tos. this constitutes a binding legal contract that protects both client and artist.
★ PAYMENT PROCEDURE ★
complete and submit the commission inquiry form when commission requests are open
if your commission is accepted, the client will be contacted via the provided email to pay an invoice for the commission. the client will be charged the full price of the commission upfront, and may pay the invoice via card or paypal in USD.
additional fees for complex characters, markings, multiple characters, and/or content may be charged case-by-case.
after payment is received, the commission will be added to the working queue and progress will start.
the client will receive a high-resolution digital image after completion.
prices are subject to change.
★ ALTERATIONS ★
the client may review the sketch before it is colored, and any alterations have to be made at this stage.
if you do not like what has been drawn at all, you're entitled to one complete redraw of the sketch from scratch. please provide additional details of what you would prefer if the entire sketch is not to your liking.
past this point, if any alterations are requested there will be a fee on a case-by-case basis depending on complexity of changes needed.
★ PRIVACY POLICY ★
your personal information and data will never be sold or shared.
you will be asked to provide certain personal information depending on your commission type.
all commission orders will ask for: legal name for any legal issues that may arise, and email address for contact purposes and invoicing
in cases where your order includes a physical item you will be asked for: shipping address so that your item may be shipped to you.
★ COPYRIGHT + DISTRIBUTION ★
the artist has full rights to reproduce the art (such as inclusion in portfolio, book of works, art prints, etc), as well as post to various social media accounts. the exception being if the agreed upon commission is private.
all credit for the character design, character, or features will be given to the character designer and/or client. any alterations made to the final commission (removing of signature, recoloring) are prohibited, unless the artist gives written permission.
the client may re-post the commissioned piece/pieces with proper credit to the artist. the client is allowed to use commissioned pieces for non-commercial/non-profit purposes (ex. personal prints, icons, banners, role-play images, etc.). the client cannot profit from the commission in any way, including using commissioned artwork for advertising or any commercial use.
the client may never create a non-fungible token (NFT) of the purchased artwork. under no circumstances should the artist’s work be involved with any cryptocurrency. NO AI.
all rights not otherwise expressed in these terms are reserved to the artist.
★ COPYRIGHT + DISTRIBUTION ★
refunds MUST be discussed between artist and client before they are issued.
refunds can only be given in full if commission work has not been started.
if refunding a commission in progress, the refund will be given based on the amount of work already accomplished by the artist.
the artist has the right to cancel a commission if they feel that it cannot be completed to the best of their ability. a full or partial refund for the work will be given, depending on stage of completion and an agreement with client is met.
the artist holds the right to cancel a commission if it cannot be completed, or if the client behaves rudely or inappropriately, or is unable to keep in contact with the artist during the duration of the commission.

hournoon is the daydream of ollie, a chinese-american, queer, nonbinary-trans person. they/he pronouns. tattoos, illustration, crafts, + apparel design are all hand-concocted in drizzly portland, or. the lowlight, highly saturated art style is inspired by 80-90's anime and manga, monster movies, and video games.

my private studio is located in the gardener’s & rancher’s building on SE MLK! the building is private, so I will come greet you for our appointment to let you in ♥★ what is the best way to get to your studio? ★
driving: free street parking is available all around the block and neighborhood, excluding right on MLK (busy busy road @_@)
public transit: street car A - MLK + hawthorne southbound drops you off right by the building! bus lines 14, 15 and 6 have stops nearby, and then a short walk will take you to the building
biking: we have a bike storage area in the building! let me know ahead of time if you are bringing your bike, and we can go through that entrance to lock up your bike before the appointment~★ accessibility ★
unfortunately, my current studio is on the second floor and requires a bit of stairs to get up to. there is not an ADA accessible passenger elevator or access for any wheelchair users/disabled people. I am working on talking to the landlords about installation, but it might be a long time coming. please lmk ahead of time if you require this ADA access, I will ask other studios in town if we can set up an appointment where it’s easier for you to access ♥★ ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE ORIGINAL PEOPLE OF THE LAND ★

I am appointment only and mindful about the max population of people within the studio.I am personally vaccinated against covid-19 and stay up to date on booster shots★ I will only be providing tattoos to individuals vaccinated against COVID-19, HIGHLY encouraging boosted folks if it is medically accessible to you. if you are able to get a PCR or rapid test 24-48 hours before our appointment, please let me know your results. non-vaccinated folks please check for any of the following symptoms before showing up: fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, cough/runny nose, and any other general feelings of illness.you must come:★ masked, wearing N95, KN95 or equivalent. wear a clean, well-fitting mask that covers your nose and mouth. do not remove the mask while you are in the shop, and avoid adjusting or touching the outside of the mask. we cannot allow you to enter the studio without a mask. if you do not have access to these, I will have a small stock and try to provide you one. try to prepare in advanced by stocking up on KN95s if possible.
